Spatial Analysis Workshop - March 2, 2012
The Spatial Analysis Workshop was a four hour event led by Dr. Leisl Carr-Childers. Attended by many other educators from across Arizona, the workshop focused on how to accurately read maps and, more importantly, how we can effectively use maps in the classroom. A map is not just a picture of where places are in relation to one another - they can tell us a lot about a specific time period, people, and/or issue.
Phoenix Art Museum - April 12, 2012

During the few hours we spent there, we talked about how to use museum artifacts as primary and secondary sources, how to effectively analyze and interpret different sources, and the advantages of using visually stimulating sources to make learning personal for students.
